Cunoniaceae is die Wilde-elsfamilie wat hoort tot die orde Oxalidales. Hierdie familie het 350 spesies wêreldwyd waarvan twee spesies in Suider-Afrika voorkom en al twee bome is. Wilde-elsbome is oor die algemeen groot.
