Damasen

In Nonnus's epic poem the Dionysiaca, Damasen (Ancient Greek: Δαμασῆν, romanizedDamasên, derived from damazô or damasô "to subdue") is a Lydian giant. He is the son of Gaia (the Earth),[1][2] and was nursed by Eris, the goddess of discord.[1] The story of Damasen is only recounted by the late antiquity epic poet Nonnus in his poem, and he does not appear in any other text of the ancient Greek and Roman corpus.
