Oksigenase

Oksigenase adalah sebuah enzim yang berfungsi untuk mengoksidasi substrat dengan mengirim oksigen dari oksigen molekuler O₂. Oksigenase membentuk sebuah kelas oksireduktase; nomor EC mereka yaitu EC 1.13 atau EC 1.14. Oksigenase pertamakali ditemukan secara bersamaan pada 1955, oleh dua kelompok, yaitu Osamu Hayaishi dari Jepang^[1][2][3] dan Howard S. Mason dari Amerika Serikat.^[4][5]
