Pimelodella is a genus of three-barbeled catfishes.

Pimelodella is the largest genus in the family. However, it is in need of taxonomic revision.[1]

This genus is found on both sides of the Andes, ranging from Panama to Paraguay and southern Brazil.[1] With the exception of P. chagresi, all members of the genus are restricted to South America. This genus includes two species of troglobitic catfishes, P. kronei and P. spelaea.[1]
