Vologda Oblast (Russian: Вологодская область, tr. Vologodskaya oblast, IPA: [vəlɐˈɡotskəjə ˈobləsʲtʲ]) is a federal subject of Russia. Specifically, it is an oblast. Its administrative center (capital city) is Vologda, but the largest city is Cherepovets, home to the Severstal metallurgical plant, the largest industrial company in the oblast.
