George Stephen Latimer (born November 22, 1953) is an American politician currently serving as the U.S. representative for New York's 16th Congressional District. From 2018 to 2025, he was County Executive of Westchester County, New York. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Prior to his election as County Executive, he served in the New York State Senate for the 37th District from 2013 to 2017. He has also served on the Rye City Council, in the Westchester County legislature, and in the New York State Assembly. He ran successfully for Westchester County Executive in 2017, unseating incumbent Republican Rob Astorino.[1][2]
Latimer won election to the U.S. House in 2024 by defeating incumbent Congressman Jamaal Bowman in the Democratic primary and won the general election.[3]
