Mehmet Fuat Köprülü, whose ideas deeply affected my understanding of history

Hello, I am a historian from United Kingdom. My grandparents migrated from Tsaritsyn (today Volvograd) to Germany during the Interwar period. And shortly before the Second World War, they leaved Germany and moved to Britain. My grandfather Porfiry Ivanovich was a renowned linguist who spoke 15 languages. My father was a diplomat and worked at the British embassy in Turkey. I studied there and learned oriental languages during my PhD program. I am also a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. I am editing Wikipedia, because one of my students claimed that I am "too old-fashioned" to do this!
