Intelligente Ontwerp

Intelligente Ontwerp is 'n pseudowetenskaplike[1] beweging wat beweer dat sekere eienskappe in die natuur die beste verklaar kan word as die gevolg van ontwerp. Dit is 'n vorm van Kreasionisme, en word deur die meerderheid van wetenskaplikes verwerp.[2][3]

Intelligente ontwerp (IO) is 'n argument vir die bestaan van God, en die stelling se voorstanders bied geen toetsbare hipotese nie, en die idee is ook nie 'n wetenskaplike teorie nie.[4]

Die Discovery-instituut in Seattle is een van die voorste organisasies wat IO bevorder deur hulle "teach the controversy"-veldtog, wat dit ten doel het om die indruk te skep dat daar nie 'n wetenskaplike konsensus oor evolusie bestaan nie.[5]

Die argumente ten gunste van intelligente ontwerp fokus op twee areas, kosmologie en biologie:
