Baghpat (Hindi pronunciation: [baːgpət̪], also [baːɣpət̪]) is one of the 80 Lok Sabha (lower house of parliament) constituencies in Uttar Pradesh state in India. This seat is considered a bastion for the Charan Singh family. He was elected to this seat for three terms from 1977 to 1989 and then this seat was held by his son Ajit Singh, between 1989 and 2014 for seven terms.[2][3] The incumbent MP for Baghpat is Rajkumar Sangwan from Rashtriya Lok Dal.
