China Media Group (Chinese: 中央广播电视总台; lit. 'Central Radio and Television General Station') also known as Voice of China,[1][2] is the predominant state media company by means of radio and television broadcasting in the People's Republic of China. It was founded on 21 March 2018, as a fusion of all state-holding media enterprises including China Central Television,[note 1] China National Radio, and China Radio International.[3]
China Media Group is under the direct control of the Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party.[4][5] As such, the Media and Journalism Research Center evaluated the China Media Group to be "State Controlled Media" under its State Media Matrix in September 2024.[6][7]
