David Wayne Allvin (born c. 1963) is a United States Air Force four-star general who has served as the 23rd chief of staff of the Air Force since 2 November 2023.[1] He most recently served as the 40th vice chief of staff of the Air Force from November 2020 to November 2023, and as acting chief of staff of the Air Force from September to November 2023.[2]
He previously served as the director for strategy, plans, and policy, J-5, on the Joint Staff, and is a senior member, United States Delegation to the United Nations Military Staff Committee, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.[3]
