Doug Bergeron is a Senior Advisor to GTCR, a leading private equity firm based in Chicago.

Bergeron is also the founder and sole shareholder of DGB Investments, a diversified holding company of technology investments.

Bergeron serves as Chairman of the Board of Cantaloupe, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTLP). He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Metateq and Zact.

In 2001, Bergeron led the acquisition of VeriFone from Hewlett-Packard and became its chairman and CEO. In 2002, Bergeron partnered with GTCR and embarked upon a strategy to aggressively grow VeriFone into a multinational company. As of May 2012, VeriFone’s enterprise value was approximately $5 billion, a 100 times increase.[1][2] Bergeron is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and is a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
