Professor Mark Whiteley is a consultant venous surgeon and founder of The Whiteley Clinic, a UK-based group of vein clinics that treat venous disorders. In 1999, he performed the UK’s first endovenous thermal ablation surgery for varicose veins, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional vein-stripping techniques.[1]
