Easington Colliery is a village in County Durham, England, known for a history of coal mining. It is situated to the north of Horden, a short distance to the east of Easington. It had a population of 4,959 in 2001,[1] and 5,022 at the 2011 Census.[2]

The village's prominence increased after its use as the fictional Everington in the film Billy Elliot (2000), starring Jamie Bell.
