Hale is a village and electoral ward within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, England.[2] It lies within the historic county boundaries of Cheshire, and became part of Greater Manchester in 1974. It lies about 9 mi (14 km) southwest of the city of Manchester, and is contiguous with the southeast of Altrincham. The population of the built up area as defined by the Office for National Statistics at the 2021 census was 16,715.
