Oakville is a town and lower-tier municipality in Halton Region, Ontario, Canada. It is located on Lake Ontario between Toronto and Hamilton. At its 2021 census the town had a population of 213,759,[3] with an estimated 233,700 people as of 2024, making it Ontario's largest town. Oakville is part of the Greater Toronto Area and one of the most densely populated areas of Canada. According to the town, about 36% do not have English as their mother tongue, and land available for culture and recreation is over 300,000 m (1,000,000 ft).[4]
