Oakwood is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system.[2] It will be located in the Little Jamaica neighbourhood[3] at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Eglinton Avenue.[4] It was scheduled to open in 2024 but, as of January 2025,[update] its opening has been postponed, with no new opening date provided.[5][1]
Local member of Provincial Parliament Mike Colle organized a petition in 2012 that led to a station at Oakwood Avenue being added to the Crosstown plan.[4][6] The main destination will be the Eglinton West commercial strip.
