The Ohio Republican Party is the Ohio affiliate of the Republican Party. It was founded in Columbus, Ohio, in 1854.[1]
It currently holds the bulk of the state's political power, controlling the majority of Ohio's U.S. House seats, both of its U.S. Senate seats, the governorship, supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature, and a majority on the Ohio Supreme Court.
