Parabelsky District (Russian: Парабе́льский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the sixteen in Tomsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northern, central, and southwestern parts of the oblast. The area of the district is 35,846.69 square kilometers (13,840.48 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Parabel.[1] Population: 12,595 (2010 Census);[2] 13,533 (2002 Census);[5] 16,033 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Parabel accounts for 48.4% of the district's total population.[2]
