Pulsetrain

Pulsetrain may refer to:

  • Pulsetrain (electrical engineering), a series of regularly spaced electrical pulses emitted by a sensor or detector in response to an alternating pattern of input, such as the teeth of a spinning wheel passing by a sensor. Used in systems to measure rotational speed or detect patterns in motion.
  • Pulsetrain (signal processing), a mathematical signal that repeats with a given period and specific edge conditions, often used in analytic antialiasing for computer graphics. Represented as a periodic function that can be filtered or integrated in applications such as pattern generation.
  • Pulse train (control systems), a time-sequential train of pulses used to control timing mechanisms, such as the shutter and film-advance systems in cameras used on sounding rockets. The pulsetrain generator produces pulses with precise timing intervals for activating solenoids or other components, as demonstrated in NASA's Aerobee rocket missions.
