Shebalinsky District (Russian: Шебали́нский райо́н; Altay: Шабалин аймак, romanized: Şabalin aymak; Kazakh: Шибалы ауданы, Şibaly audany) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the ten in the Altai Republic, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the republic. The area of the district is 3,794 square kilometers (1,465 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Shebalino.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 13,596, with the population of Shebalino accounting for 36.2% of that number.[3]
