The Spanish expedition to Tlemcen, also known as Tlemcen War[1][b] was led by Count Alcaudete between 27 January and 8 March 1543 with the aim of overthrowing the Zayyanid king Abu Zayyan III and replacing him with Abu Abdallah VI . The expedition was successful and Abu Abdallah was restored to the throne as a Spanish vassal.
