Steatornithidae is an family of birds containing a single extant species, the oilbird. It also contains the extinct genus Euronyctibius.[1]

Steatornithidae is currently considered the only member of the order Steatornithiformes, however, in the past, it was classified in the order Caprimulgiformes, along with all other members of Strisores. Before that, it was part of a paraphyletic Caprimulgiformes consisting of the nocturnal strisoreans.
