Temixco is the fourth-largest city in the Mexican state of Morelos. It is in the west-northwest part of the state, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Cuernavaca and 85 kilometres (53 mi) from Mexico City.[5]
The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality, with which it shares a name. The municipality reported 116,143 inhabitants in 2010, a growth rate of 1.5% for each of the previous ten years.[6] The municipality has an area of 87.869 km2 (33.926 sq mi).
