Nina Simone, pseudonimo di Eunice Kathleen Waymon (Tryon, 21 febbraio 1933 – Carry-le-Rouet, 21 aprile 2003), è stata una cantante, pianista, scrittrice e attivista per i diritti civili statunitense.
È stata soprattutto interprete di jazz, anche se la sua formazione era incentrata sulla musica classica[2] e il suo stile variava fra diversi generi musicali, come soul, blues, folk, gospel e jazz.
La rivista Rolling Stone l'ha posizionata al 29º posto nella lista dei 100 migliori cantanti di tutti i tempi.
