Iordanon

Hieracium vagum Jord., iordanon tamquam species distinguendum

Iordanon (-i, n. vel -is, m.)[1] est categoria taxinomica tum ad gradum speciei, tum ad alios gradus pertinens.

Cum species animalium, plantarum, aliorumque organismorum vivorum perdiversae sint nec definitio speciei unica enuntiari possit,[2] nonnumquam, praesertim in botanica, iuxta propositionem Ioannis Pauli Lotsy, inter species distinguuntur linnaeones, “species magnae”, in commemorationem Caroli Linnaei nominatae, et iordanones, species parvae, in honorem Alexii Jordan appellatae. Iordanon est “forma quae in reproductione characteres parentis conservat” (forms that breed true to type).[3]

Notandum est secundum opinionem Alexii Jordan omnes linnaeones in iordanones dividendos esse, iordanones vero tamquam species considerandos; hodie autem iordanones diverse intelleguntur. Multi iordanones haud amplius distinguuntur, exempli gratia in specie (linnaeone) Erophila verna, olim in ducentos circiter iordanones divisa, nunc minime dividenda.[4] Nonnulli iordanones tamquam subspecies distinguuntur, ut Ranunculus acris subsp. friesianus (Jord.) Rouy & Fouc.[5] Alii vero, apud plantas quae, facultatem reproductionis sexualis amittentes, per apomixin prolem generant, tamquam species distinguuntur, ut puta in Taraxacis vel Hieraciis; hi iordanones etiam microspecies dicuntur.
