Nicotinum

Nicotinum^[1]^[2]^[3] sive nicotina^[1]^[3] sive nicotia^[3] sive nicotianinum^[1] seu nicotianina^[1] est potens alkaloidum parasympathomimeticum quod in plantis familiae Solanacearum invenitur. Ut agonista nicotinica acetylcholini receptor agit, biosynthesi in radicibus incidens inque foliis cumulans. In 0.6–3.0 centesimis ponderis sicci tabaci consistit,^[4] et adest 2–7 µg/kg in variis plantis quae eduntur.^[5] Id est chemica antiherbivora, ad insecta specifica; ergo id tempore praeterito late ut insecticida adhibitum est,^[6]^[7]^[8] et hodie eius analogi, sicut imidacloprid, late adhibentur.
