Triremis

Sculptura saeculi 5 a.C.n.: triremis Atheniensis

Triremis (Graece: τριήρης) est navis remivaga antiqua adhibita praesertim in Graecia ab anno 600 a.C.n. usque ad annum 100 a.C.n.. Remorum tres ordines habuit. Celeris et mobilis est navis (vide e.g. Xen. Oec. 8.8).

Classis Athenensis saeculo quinto plus quam 300 triremes habuit. Themistocles oraculum cognovit, quod "murum ligneum" construi debere dicit, qui murus est classis (Hdt. 7.141-143).

Triremis Olympias, saeculo 20 facta, quae antiquas triremes aemulatur.
