Een tinamoe of stuithoen (orde Tinamiformes; familie Tinamidae) is een van de oudste vogelsoorten. De Tinamoe behoort tot de Zuid-Amerikaanse vogelfamilie tinamoes, die 46 soorten kent, onderverdeeld in 9 geslachten.[1]
