Stramenopiles (do latim: stramen, straminis, "de palha"; e pilus "com pelos") é uma das linhagens principais dos organismos pertencentes ao domínio Eukarya,[2] com cerca de 25 000 espécies descritas.[11] O grupo é também designado por Heterokonta[12] devido à presença nos gâmetas dos seus membros de flagelos desiguais do tipo heteroconto. O agrupamento absorveu o anterior táxon Heterokontophyta, considerado parafilético.
