Manitol je beli, kristalni[6] šećerni alkohol sa hemijskom formulom (C6H8(OH)6). On se koristi kao osmotički diuretički agens i slab renalni vazodilatator. On je originalno bio izolovan iz sekreta crnog jasena.[7] On se u biljkama koristi za indukovanje osmotskog stresa.
