Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is set up by the Department of Health and Social Care to check the quality of health and social care in England. It can go into hospitals, care homes, dentists, general practices and other care services, both public and private. It was started in 2009. The organisations they check have to pay.

Services are rated on a four point scale: Outstanding, Good, Requires improvement and Inadequate. They are all listed on its website. [1]
