John Calvin Coolidge Sr. (March 31, 1845 – March 18, 1926) was an American politician and businessman. He was the father of J. Calvin Coolidge Jr., the 30th President of the United States.
He administered the presidential oath of office to his son at their family homestead on the early morning of August 3, 1923, following the death of President Warren G. Harding.[1]
