Martti Oiva Kalevi Ahtisaari (pronounced [ˈmɑrt:i ˈoivɑ ˈkɑleʋi ˈɑhtisɑ:ri]) (23 June 1937 – 16 October 2023) was a Finnish politician. He was the 10th President of Finland between 1994 until 2000. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008. He is also a United Nations diplomat and mediator. He was known for his international peace work.
