Masculine gender

Masculine is a grammatical gender, present in all languages that have this grammatical category. It usually applies to animate objects of the male gender, but is also often used with inanimate, and in some cases animates of the female gender.[1]

For example, in Italian they are masculine nouns man (masculine animate), desco (inanimate), soprano (feminine animate).
