"How Pure, Chile, is Your Blue Sky " is the national anthem of Chile . First adopted in 1828, the national anthem originally did not have any words in it. The melody of the song was composed by Ramón Carnicer . Later, the Chilean government wanted words for the song, so eventually, a poet by the name of Eusibio Lillo wrote the lyrics to the national anthem in September 1847.[ 1] [ 2] [ 3] [ 4] [ 5]
