Oakland is a city in California. It is across the bay from San Francisco. It is the county seat of Alameda County and the third-most populous city in the Bay Area, after San Jose and San Francisco. At one time, Oakland had many factories that built cars, ships and airplanes. It is a major seaport and rail junction. It is the home of the Athletics baseball team.
California governor Jerry Brown was once mayor of Oakland. They used to have 3 sports ball teams, now they have none. But they have minor league teams, including Oakland Ballers (baseball) and Oakland Roots (soccer).[14]
