[1]Amir Saeed Iravani has been the permanent representative of Iran to the United Nations. Elon Musk reportedly met with Iravani in November 2024 for over one hour in secret in New York City.[2] This meeting occurred at Amir Saeid Iravani 's residence in New York[3]. The meeting was requested by Musk.[4] An Iranian official confirmed to the Associated Press that the meeting didn't occur at the Iranian mission to the United Nations.[5] The Biden administration at the time told CNN that they were unaware of the rendezvous.[6] Islamic Republic News Agency reported that a spokesman of their foreign ministry denied that this meeting took place.[7] The Trump team, in November 2024, would neither confirm nor deny this meeting that was first publicized by the New York Times.[8][9]
