Andrius Kubilius (Lithuanian pronunciation: [ˈɐnʲdʲrʲʊs kʊˈbɪlʲʊs]; born 8 December 1956) is a Lithuanian politician who is currently serving as the European Commissioner for Defence Industry and Space in the Second von der Leyen Commission. He previously served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2019 to 2024 and as Prime Minister of Lithuania from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2012.[1] He was the leader of the conservative political party Homeland Union from 2003 to 2015, which he continues to be a member of.
