Concerns and controversies at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Various concerns and controversies arose in relation to the 2024 Summer Olympics, held in Paris, including security,[1] human rights issues, Israel's participation amid the Gaza war, and allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete as neutrals amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Despite the nominal Olympic Truce, the wars in Ukraine and Israel created a more complex[clarification needed] political background to the 2024 Summer Olympics.[2]
