'It's an extremely exciting project,' says director Prochaska, partially because it's not just simply a remake. Instead, he has chosen to combine elements from the true story of the Battle of the Atlantic with the original novel by Lothar-Günther Buchheim, while introducing a fictitious story line that takes place within the ranks of the French Resistance.  – via Factiva (subscription required)
