User talk:Bruce Cunningham

Hello, Bruce. Thanks for your note re: Michener. I didn't realize anyone else was expanding the Michener books. Hope I didn't edit anything you'd written recently. I'm new to editing Wikipedia, and have been using the Michener section as a sort of tutorial for myself. Also, I could have sworn I read that Miracle in Seville was nonfiction, based on his travels in Spain. Anyway, I notice that you are part of something called "Novels Portal". What is that, and how can I be a part?? Thanks! --(Joshua) ic0n0klast (talk) 13:23, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To join the novels project, just follow the link from the banner on my profile, it'll take you to their page. All you have to do is add your name to the list and let them know what you're working on.

I had to dig up a copy of Miracle in Seville before I discovered it had been misclassified at nonfiction. My main argument to put it in the fiction area is that it is told in first person, but not in the name of the author. Fictional Characters = Fiction. The narrator says early in the story that he didn't publish this earlier in his career because he didn't think people would believe it and he was afraid of ridicule, and I think that is the reason some people have been willing to put this in the nonfiction section, but that's really not an objective enough reason for me.
