Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Italian pronunciation: [anˈdrɛːa ˈkiːmi antoˈnɛlli]; born 25 August 2006), also known as Kimi Antonelli, is an Italian racing driver, who most recently competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Prema.
Born and raised in Bologna, Antonelli is the son of sportscar racing driver Marco Antonelli. After a successful karting career—culminating in back-to-back victories at the direct-drive Karting European Championship in 2020 and 2021—Antonelli graduated to junior formulae. He won his first title at the 2022 Italian F4 Championship with Prema, and has since won the ADAC F4 Championship in 2022 and the Formula Regional European Championship in 2023 with Prema, as well as the Formula Regional Middle East Championship in 2023 with Mumbai Falcons. In addition to becoming a race-winner in the Italian GT Championship, he also won a gold medal at the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games, representing Italy. Antonelli progressed to FIA Formula 2 in 2024, winning multiple races as he finished sixth in his rookie season.
A member of the Mercedes Junior Team since 2019,[a] Antonelli made his free practice debut in Formula One at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix. He is set to compete for Mercedes from 2025 onwards, replacing Lewis Hamilton to partner George Russell.[1]
