Bato (IPA: [bɐ'to]), officially the Municipality of Bato (Cebuano: Lungsod sa Bato; Waray: Bungto han Bato; Tagalog: Bayan ng Bato), is a municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 38,505 people.[3]
It borders with the municipality of Matalom in the south, Hilongos in the north, and Bontoc to the east. Bato, together with Hilongos, is also a center of commerce, trade and education in southwestern part of Leyte.
