The Battle of Monastyryshche[a] happened in March 1653 during the Khmelnytskyi Uprising. The Ukrainian Cossack peasant army defeated the Polish–Lithuanian army near the town of Monastyryshche,[5] in the Uman Regiment of the Cossack Hetmanate.
