The series was written by Ed Brubaker, illustrated by Bryan Hitch, and inked by Butch Guice. The series reveals the truth regarding the death of the original Captain America, Steve Rogers (as told in the story arc "The Death of Captain America") and revives him in the contemporary Marvel Universe.
