Henry Marten (regicide)

Henry Marten[1] (1602 – 9 September 1680) was an English lawyer and politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1640 and 1653. He was an ardent republican and a regicide of King Charles I of England. He was found guilty of taking part in the king's death. Although he remained a captive, he was spared the death penalty.
