Ictinus (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Ictinus (Ancient Greek: Ἴκτινος, romanizedÍktinos, lit.'kite'[1]) is a minor figure who tried to violate his daughter and was transformed into a bird, in part of an aetiological myth that attempts to explain the nature of trees and birds. His brief tale survives in the works of Dionysius Periegetes, and might have been an original invention.
