Leucostethus siapida is a species of frog in the family Dendrobatidae. It is endemic to Gorgona Island, in Colombia.[1][2]
Scientists saw the frog on Gorgona Island, an island in the Pacific Ocean, 35 km southwest of mainland Colombia.[3]
This frog has a light-colored belly and orange pigmentation in the groin and axilla areas. It has white spots on the thighs.[3]
Scientists note that while the frog resembles L. argyrogaster and L. fugax, it is more closely related to L. bilsa, from Ecuador.[3]
The scientists who wrote the first formal description of the frog note that it is vulnerable to extinction per IUCN Red List criteria.[3]
