Stary Imielin,[a] also known as West Ursynów,[b] is a neighbourhood, and a City Information System area, located in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Ursynów.[1][2][3]
It is a residencial area, mostly consists of the multifamily housing.[2][3][4] There are also located numerous medical facilities, including Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, and the Southern Hospital.[5][6][7]
The oldest known records of the village of Imielin come from 1422 [8] It was incorporated into Warsaw in 1951.[9] Between 1976 and 1981, in Imielin was constructed the multifamily housing neighbourhood of West Ursynów.[2][3] Between 1979 and 1997, there was constructed the medical complex of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology.[10]
